Prelude: Originally I had my TA, Amy Picknell sign me up for the KTC visit on Sunday September 16th. However, I unfortunately had to go to an unexpected funeral on that Saturday and Sunday so I wasn’t able to go to the KTC meditation. I ended up leaving Columbus Friday night and on my way down I kept looking and looking for places to visit and couldn’t find anything. Then, out of nowhere I noticed some of the places listed on carmen and one of the places was a Buddhist temple in Yellow Springs, Ohio. The funeral was in Dayton and Yellow Springs was no more than 35 minutes away. So me being the angelic student I am, got up on Saturday at 6:00AM and took my parents car to Yellow Springs, Ohio to visit the Dharma Center at 7:30am before the funeral later on that day.

The Bible, God, Jesus, worship, “Christian”, church every Sunday, and the 10 commandments. All of these things were thrown at me for the majority of my childhood. All I’ve ever known is how to be a “Christian”. Going to a Zen Buddhist Meditation is something that I have wanted to do for a long time. I want to know what other religions have to offer and what they are all about. By the time I was done with this visit I was very happy with my decision to call and schedule it. Going to a Zen Buddhist Meditation is something I will remember the rest of my life. I arrived at the Yellow Springs Dharma Center, in Yellow Springs, Ohio at 6:50AM for a Zen Buddhist Meditation at 7:30AM. Pulling up to the center I was unexpectedly surprised at the exterior of the center. It was very plain and ordinary. I’m not exactly sure what I was even expecting really, but for some reason I just didn’t picture a house like structure that I saw.
