Muslims And Christians

You may think that two religions that both worship one god would be similar but that’s not always true. Although Muslims and Christians both worship “God” there are many differences. The most evident are: the personality of their “God”, the way they treat those of a different religion and their religious rights. Most people believe that that the Christian God, Yahweh, Jehovah, I am exc., is the same as the Islamic God, Allah. They both are just one God, it’s true, but they have infinitesimally different personalities. Yahweh, for instance, is forgiving (john 3:16), while Allah requires you to be good enough for his heaven. Another fact about these gods is their views on murder. While both gods do have instances where they are ordered to kill people Yahweh’s orders are for certain times and places while Allah commands the killing of all who aren’t Muslim. Another factor between Christians and Muslims is the way they treat people of different religions. As I mentioned before the Muslim God Allah commands the killing of “Infidels”, people of different religions, while Yahweh commands in the Great commission (Matthew 28:16-20) he commands his disciples to go and make disciples of all nations. These are very different methods for “similar” religions. However, both religions do accept converts with similar processes. The final issue I will bring up is their religious rights, a topic on which both religions are strict. For instance both religions say men are superior to woman (1 Timothy 2:11), but Muslims are more extreme, making woman where ankle and wrist length clothes as well as head scarves. Another factor in this is how they treat people who leave the religion. In both cases the person faces being shunned by their family, however, Muslims are known to kill people who leave their religion. In conclusion, despite some similarities, the Islamic and Christian religions are very different.
