Music Has the Ability to Do
Most people have a favorite song or melody that they enjoy hearing. Whether it is a song they learn to sing at an early age or even a tune from a popular band. Certain sounds just stay with people as time goes on. This powerful affect shows how important people believe music is to their lives. Music is not just sounds instruments make or people create in a rhythmic collaboration. Music can have a larger influence on each person’s life. Certain melodies and rhythms can portray a feeling. Musical artist, composers, and other musical creators use such rhythms and patterns of sound to express emotion. In Cinema, musical selection is critical to conveying the thought or feeling behind the movie. Theatre musical directors choose specific selections pertaining to a characters feeling or characteristics. Many cultures characterize music as a way of life. Songs within some societies mark a significant time. One can immediately flash back to that time and reflect on important events (Sporre, 2011). Some cultures express their love of music through a cultural or folk dance signifying the significance of particular songs as well as impacting other genres in society. Music is considered the purest form of art. In most cases music derived from another form of musical sound or style of music. As time and society evolved so did the music around people. Other forms of art are not as free to because of the inability to change, as time changes (Sporre, 2011). Through the years music has seen many historical developments and music’s effect on art forms like dance, cinema/film, and theater . As people continue to grow and excel with time so will music and the arts.

Music can be complex or simple, textured or monotone; music makes people respond through movement. Because music has been around so long it is constantly changing, growing, and evolving. From the beating of a drum, to the blowing through a reed, to the plucking of a string music Tribal music has come into the international spotlight, and this is no coincidence because music surrounds everyone each day and the roots of music are links to the past (Águila, 2011). Music has evolved from the beat of a drum to religious, folk, classical, blues, jazz, rock n roll, rap, rhythm n blues, and rap. Each form of music inspires the next this is how music has inspired continually humankind to move and create art, dance, and theater. Life would not be the same without music, sweet music and that goes for each person on the Earth. Music has distinct characteristics that define the type and style. Each style is unique and original giving full freedom to the artist creating or performing the music. Music is expressed in celebration and mourning to express happiness or sorrow. Music has also evolved with advances in technology to improve and influence music over time (Trandafir, 2010). Music represents time in two ways the first physical as represented in compositional performance activities and by psychological time as represented by feelings and mood (Trandafir, 2010).
