Music and Movement Experiences

Weighting: 25%
This assessment is graded. The total marks or this assessment is 50 marks. There are 15 marks awarded for each plan and 20 marks awarded for the CD/video recording of one plan.
Learners will receive a NOT YET COMPETENT, COMPETENT WITH PASS, COMPETENT WITH CREDIT or COMPETENT WITH DISTINCTION in
accordance with TAFE NSW Assessment Guidelines.
This assessment is worth 25% of the total result for this unit. Devise two experience plans using the suggested format. These plans need to be based upon the interests of two (2) children you have chosen from the Summerville Service. They need to be developmentally appropriate and serve to foster an appreciation and involvement within music and movement.

At least one of these plans should reference cultural diversity. Your plans need to:
identify the developmental skills and musical concept/s you will be focusing on within this experience (2marks)
list the materials, equipment or props you will need to present the experience (2 marks)
consider safety issues, including space, set up and equipment chosen (2 marks) identify how you would facilitate the involvement of children throughout the experience. eg open ended questions, positive feedback (3 marks) provide a natural balance and flow of activities i.e. singing, listening, movement, transition (2 marks)

encourage self expression and experimentation with movement and/or music (2 marks)
