In my opinion the subject of abortion for me is contradicting. I am for the most part against it. In some cases I am for it. Many people have to think of three harmful causes of abortion. The three leading causes are not being able to have children, physical complications of having an abortion, and lastly death. Those three things are very much an eye opener for me and the decision as to why I am Pro-life.
Many people do not know that having an abortion decreases your chances of having a baby when you have decided that you are now ready for a child. When you have an abortion the process they are doing is basically cleaning out your uterus. Which when they do that you are very much weakening your uterus. So when you decide that you do want a baby your chances are slimmer. Also when you have had more than one abortion it also weakens your cervix. That will cause something called an incompetent cervix which starts dilating prematurely. This can sometimes be treated with a stitch to keep the cervix closed, called a cerclage.
Physical complications of having an abortion are very serious. Over one hundred potential complications have been associated with induced abortion. Minor complications include: minor infections, bleeding, fevers, chronic abdominal pain, gastro-intestinal disturbances, vomiting, and Rh sensitization. The nine most common major complications which are infection, excessive bleeding, embolism, ripping or perforation of the uterus, anesthesia complications, convulsions, hemorrhage, cervical injury, and endotoxin shock. In a series of 1,182 abortions which occurred under closely regulated hospital conditions, 27 percent of the patients acquired post-abortion infection lasting 3 days or longer. While the immediate complications of abortion are usually treatable, these complications frequently lead to long-term reproductive damage of much more serious nature.

Signs of septicemia after a late term abortion include fever, chills, severe abdominal pain, foul smelling vaginal discharge and excessive bleeding.", says the LIVESTRONG foundation. If the uterus tears or is punctured during the procedure, there is a very high risk for hemorrhaging which in extreme cases can lead to removal of the uterus. By doing this, there is a very good chance that a woman could become infertile.…

Are you Pro-Choice or Pro-Life? My position on the subject is Pro-Life. Being able to have an abortion whenever and for whatever reason is wrong. There are many court cases on abortion taking both sides. Roe v. Wade being the biggest of them all taking the side of Pro-Choice. Being Pro-Life you have to look at more than just the one case. Some other cases are Rust v. Sullivan, Mazurek v. Armstrong, and many more go Pro-Life. Understanding that many people believe abortion is okay and anyone should be able to do it makes abortion a hard subject to talk about. Everyone like to put in the opinion on abortion, but how many people look at the facts on abortion? Looking at the facts could change your opinion.…

Most health practitioners prefer to intubate pregnant women during surgical abortion. On the contrary, outpatient facilities prefer to administer deep intravenous anesthetic drugs. The reason for the difference in anesthetic options is because patients undergoing abortions at outpatient facilities have not been catered for and that there is no verification showing that there are pregnancy risks with aspiration. Studies show that abortions have little complications and relatively low mortality rates in expectant mothers.…

One consequence of having an abortion is the physical risks. There are many complications that can occur during abortion procedures. According to an article published by the Alaskan Department of Health and Social Services, less than one percent of women experience an incomplete abortion. This occurs when the uterus is not completely emptied of fetal tissue or other products of pregnancy. When having an abortion injury to the cervix can occur as a surface cut or a deeper tear in the tissue. By moderate dilation approaches, the risk of damage is minimized. This only takes place in less than one percent of all abortions. The same source also states that a complication can occur when a medical instrument used in the abortion procedure may go through the wall of the uterus. There may…

It is only effective if the patient takes it within 63 days after her last period. However, in some cases which it doesn’t work and pregnancy continues, it leads to serious birth defects. As for the in-clinic abortion, the most common is called the Vacuum Aspiration which is used within 16 weeks of pregnancy while the Dilation and Evacuation is used for pregnancy that has exceeded 16 weeks. Both of the ways are very effective but that the risk of death from abortion will increase as the duration of pregnancy increases.
