Review – 3/5
Although I did find the films to be a good movie I don’t think I would watch it again. I did not understand the plot because it was confusing. I could not depict one key-point in the plot, if the last thing he remembers is his wife’s death, how does he remember his short-term memory loss? As well as the two methods that Leonard tries to keep the memories he makes using polaroid photos and tattoos doesn’t appeal to me due to that they don’t pose a permaent remembrance, Maybe a Journal or online blog would help him remember what is being done or changed from previous details. I also thing that writing down things that happen don’t always work out to benefit him due to the scene when Natalie takes his pens so he cant write down how she manipulated him into punching her so she could get him to kill someone. The people around him show great annoyance because he cant remember what is going on due to only being to remember 10 minutes at a time. I think a more realistic approach would have made the movie more interesting, Living in a home or not so sketchy people as “friends”. I believe that this movie is good for ages 17 and older; I believe this due to the graphic details. The lighting in the movie made me annoyed and didn’t

This movie was chosen because it was viewed as a proper representation of the power of influence. It shows how large of a role influence can play specifically during times of adversity. This movie also shows one’s strive to fit in and how the opinion of others can determine how one lives their life. As displayed in the movie, many often lose themselves when striving to fit in and/or be perfect. For some reason, Skeeter decided to shy away from the domestic aspect of her advice column and direct her focus to “the help” themselves. She was curious to know why a difference in skin…

In the documentary Jesus Camp young children are shown in their native environment to have very close relationships with the Lord. Jesus Camp focuses on young white evangelical Christians from the heartland of America who are all being home schooled by their mothers and taught to be zealous soldiers in God’s army fighting the Devil and the morally bankrupt and godless secular culture in what is called the sick world. The importance of Jesus Camp cannot be emphasized enough for it reveals as no other film has done the breadth and depth of the culture war that is going on in America. This documentary is every bit as important for its expose of another development; the campaign to recruit the younger generation to fight for the very soul of America. Becky Fischer is a children's pastor who runs the group Kids on Fire, a summer camp for evangelical Christian children in North Dakota and believes that today's youngsters can be taught to become strong and courageous warriors in the crusade against the liberal forces that have brought America down. Fischer believes in the political and moral importance of a Christian presence in America. She uses video games, animated videos, and group activities to help put her message across; Fischer encourages the kids to pray for George W. Bush and his Supreme Court appointees while urging them to help take back America for Christ. For the most part, the children seem reasonably ordinary beyond the fact they pray with uncommon fervor and sometimes speak in tongues. We meet three of these little soldiers in this documentary. First is Levi who is from St. Robert, Missouri; his father is a preacher at their church and an employee of the U.S. Army. Levi was saved when he was five and believes that he has been called to be a preacher in a mega-church. Rachael who is from the same town and has been home schooled all her life. She loves to…

As I watched this film, some question came up to my mind! What is memory? What is the important of memories? What if the people you chose to love is not the right one for you? What if you love at the wrong time? What if the relationship you build did not last? Do you think you can forget a person who gave you so much to remember? Do you think the feeling…

Memento, directed by Christopher Nolan is a physiological thriller film that retells the events that have led up to the protagonist, a man named Leonard Shelby murdering a man named Teddy. The film has received critical acclaim for its unique time sequence, which goes in both reverse and chronological order. The temporal structure of the film serves two proposes: to mimic the process of human of recollection, and to allow the viewer to understand the nature of anterograde amnesia, an ailment that Leonard Shelby suffers from. The ambiguity in the ending of Nolan’s work raises many questions about the reliability of human memory. Throughout the movie, the audience is forced to ask repeatedly if the “memory” of the protagonist can be trusted, and eventually doubt the fidelity of human memory as a whole. In Memento, Leonard’s methods of record keeping assert that human memory can be deceptive, and that individuals create false images by modifying memories over time.…

Easily the most anticipated movie of the year and perhaps even the team superhero movie of all time, “The Avengers”, directed by Joss Whedon and starring big names like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, and Scarlett Johansson, is a movie adaptation of the Marvel comic book of the same title. Not only is it an action-packed spectacular you would expect from a butt-kicking superhero film, but it also integrates the element of comedy quite smoothly. This 2 ½ hour film is one you’d gladly watch over and over again and—pun fully intended—marvel each time.…
