George W. Bush, our 43rd President, was thought to be a dim witted rich kid that happened to get into office on the basis of his last name.   As with managers of all types, a leadership style may be deeply engrained from parents and individual personalities or it may be a learned quality.   One other possibility will be discussed in this paper and that is a leadership style based on the people that are chosen to aid in decision making.   This sort of leadership style is a democratic style.  
A democratic style consists of having those around that are given the freedom in helping with the decision making process.   Those people, for one reason or another, are chosen for their abilities, character and their willingness to achieve the same goals.   George W. Bush had that very same style as President.   “Most people think he hires smart people because he’s not so smart, that’s the key to being a successful leader” says co-author of the book “The Genius of George W. Bush.” (Thompson)   The democratic leadership style involves the art of having total faith in those around to help with the decision making and relying on those chosen ones.   This same leadership style applies in business as well as government.   Many managers have the same style that lets employees help in the day to day decision making.   This type of style is thought to have benefits that ultimately help in all aspects of business, primarily in motivating and empowering employees.
