Analyzing a film is very essential. It is an important factor, in fully understanding the film you are viewing. The development of a film and the films process is very extensive. It is very crucial for the viewer to be able to understand what the producer is trying to convey to his/her audience.
When doing your film analysis there are many factors that you need to look for, more than you can imagine. All of the detail that goes into a film is unbelievable; it is more than just picking out certain features. Before you watch the film, you need to check out the synopsis, it can give you some information on what to expect and what the film is about. The synopsis can tell you who is in it and what direction the film is going. It is important to analyze each shot and angle from each scene. When the camera changes to a different angle or scene, you will want to analyze each scene. Most shots today do not seem to last no longer than fifteen to twenty seconds. When analyzing each shot, there are different features you will want to focus on. You certainly want to pay close attention to the plot. Look at what is going on in the scene, what is each character doing and what is their purpose in each scene. This may seem to be monotonous or maybe a bit tedious, but this needs to be done in order to perform your film analysis effectively.
In gathering, my information I found some steps that could be helpful in analyzing a film; these steps were gathered from Articlebase.com.
