                                                                  Mothers

Mother is often used to describe a female whom has given birth.   Mothers can come in all shapes, sizes and ages.   A mother usually provides a safety net and comforts her child as needed.   While most mothers sacrifice to provide and protect their child, there are some who elect to neglect or abandon their kids.   A mother’s love is supposed to be forever and like nothing else in this world.       There are some women who are non-biological mothers but they still love and care for the child as their own.   Although men are often considered to be the head of the house, women too are assuming the role of full time providers and protectors for our children.
Mothers today are providing much more than cleaning and packing lunches for the kids. Mothers are providing mental, financial, emotional, and physical support for their families and so much more. Single moms have no choice but to provide housing, food, transportation and medicine or medical treatment as it’s needed. Most moms bring in the majority income, providing financial stability for their families.   The U.S. Dept. of Labor surveys working moms and determines “55% of working moms support half or more of their household income” (James).   Moms also play a key role in handling purchasing decisions.   In fact, according to Kevin the intern at Y98 Radio “ Women make 80% of general purchasing decisions … 93% food purchases … Even 65% of auto purchases” (Kevin).   Modern day moms are carrying the majority of the load in regards to the households, finances, and final decisions concerning the kids and home.
Today mothers are also forced to protect their kids in many different aspects of life.   We as mothers must try our best to protect our kids from bullies, stereotypes, predators, gangs, and many other types of dangers in the world.   Some of these dangers could also include fires, catching colds...
