My Most Unforgettable Childhood Incident
“Higher! Higher!” I yelled at my cousin to push me harder on the swing. I felt like a bird soaring into the sky. At that moment, my parents invited us for a bicycle ride, we raced to the house. I was so enthusiastic as I had never sat on the two-wheeled bicycle before.
My father held me up to the modified back seat of the bicycle. I held on to my father’s waist tightly. “Yay!Yay!” we were so keyed up about the ride. Even though I had qualms about bicycle ride, I told myself it would be fun. The moment the wheels started, I could feel a gust of wind blowing gently against my face. Looking down as the wheel turning non-stop, I can see tiny rocks rugged against the bicycle wheel, I hoped it won’t be a bumping ride.
My legs were hanging freely and my posture was making my back ache, so I moved to a comfortable position. The bicycle gave a shudder, and then stopped dead. I found my left foot wedged between the bicycle wheel axial and screamed in pain which caught my father in apprehension. My father twisted his neck to take a look and startled. My father was inconceivable this would happen. He then yanked out my foot from the bicycle wheel axial and consequently I started sobbing. Blood was flowing without restraint down my foot like volcano lava. The throbbing pain in my foot was become unbearable that I started to burst into tears. My anxious father volte-face and accelerated back to my grandmother’s house.
Upon hearing me wailed at the gate, everyone in the house dashed out to find out what has happened. My father hurriedly carried me to the living room and my grandmother carefully applied some ointment on the wound. Cousins looked petrifying and the adults show sympathy to comfort me. Even the youngest cousins of mine offered me some of her lollipops. I felt calmed and everyone reassured me that I would be fine. After receiving treatment for my injured foot, I was in low spirits.
