Moringa Farming

I. Market Prices
1 kg bundled unprocessed leaves= Php 10.00
1 kg powder for local market= Php 200 - 400.00
1 kg powder for export market=Yen 1,620 ~ Php 800.00

II. Conversions
10 kg Unprocessed Leaves= 1-2 kg powder
* Depends on initial water content (before drying)
* Water content is usually 80-90% of the leaves
* Weather conditions and water management affect water content greatly

4-5kg Unprocessed Leaves= 1 Liter oil (approximately)
* Needs oil extractor

1 tree (12-15 branches)= 1 kg of leaves per month
* Regular pruning of branches must be done
* Too many branches will affect leaf nutrition and is more susceptible to wind damage

1 fertile tree branch= 6-12 seeds
* Can be sold directly
* Can be used for oil extraction
* Can be used for tree replenishment

1 branch cutting= 1 grown tree

III. Production Yield
a. Assumption: Perfect Conditions 1 tree = 1 kg leaves / month * Given 1 hectare
If Planting distance = 1.333 (high quality, has ample room for harvesting and replanting)
1 hectare = 7,500 trees
1 hectare = 7,500 trees = 7,500 kg leaves / month
1 hectare = 7,500 kg leaves = Php 75,000 (@ Php 10 / kg leaves) Or if Processing
1 hectare = 7,500 kg leaves = 750 kg powder
1 hectare = 750 kg powder = Php 225,000 locally (@ Php 300 / kg powder)
1 hectare = 750 kg powder = Php 600,000 export (@ Php 800 / kg powder)

If Planting distance = 1.00 (has exact room for harvesting)
1 hectare = 10,000 trees
1 hectare = 10,000 trees = 10,000 kg leaves / month
1 hectare = 10,000 kg leaves = Php 100,000 (@ Php 10 / kg leaves) Or if Processing
1 hectare = 10,000 kg leaves = 1,000 kg powder
1 hectare = 1,000 kg powder = Php 300,000 locally (@ Php 300 / kg powder)
1 hectare = 1,000 kg powder = Php 800,000 export (@ Php 800 / kg powder)

If Planting distance = 0.33 (clump harvesting but low quality)
1 hectare = 30,000...
