Money, the Root of All Evil

“Money is the root of all evil.” This statement has been said for many many decades now. Money is the driving force behind everything in modern society. Man’s obsession of money and need of money has changed tremendously over the last couple of years. Whether it’s robbing banks, creating fraud, and even stealing from your own family, money makes people do crazy things. “Money does not care what happens to a person, but yet a person cares about what happens to the money.” The creation of money has definitely made a great difference in the way people live; it could be for the good or the bad. Those that don’t have money want it, and those that do have money want more of it. Everyone needs money. It’s just the way of life. Without money, you are a nobody. Almost every crime, except those of desire, the root of the motive is almost always because of money. When you hear the word evil, you usually associate that word with money, power, and greed. Money makes people do things that aren’t morally right just to obtain it. The need for money has grown at a fast rate over the years because of the economic collapse, so lately there’s been a spike in crimes nationwide. Nowadays it seems as if the rich keep getting richer and the poor get poorer. Ultimately money matters to everyone no matter how rich or poor they really are. Although money has its downside, it also has its upside. Money has given an accelerated change and growth within society whether it be through new technological developments or a new find of medicine. Those that do have money obviously have an advantage over those that don’t so they are capable of obtaining different luxuries throughout life. It really all depends on the individual and his/her actions whether they chose to be successful or not.
