Bus Stop and Dear Sir/madam
You migrated to another country. Write a letter to your friend to describe your present life and tell him/her why you chose this country.
Dear Linda,
I’m sorry I haven’t been writing to you for such a long time. I am writing to inform you that I have migrated to Perth, Australia. My family and I arrived in Perth on the 03/04 and we have finally settled down.
We migrated to Perth because my sisters and their families have also migrated there three years ago. We have planed to join them in Perth and also did this for the children’s education and their future as well.
We have just settled in our new house and the kids are enjoying the pool almost every day. They have been attending a public school and have made quite a lot of friends. The people here are very friendly and helpful. John has also found a job near the city. The working environment here according to John is very different from Malaysia. As for me, I am a full time housewife, enjoying the morning coffee with the newspaper.

Do let me know when you plan to visit Perth and you are always welcome to stay at my new house.
With love,
Sharon.

Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to complain about the air conditioner in my car, which I took on rent from your company for two weeks. Unfortunately, it has stopped working.
I rented Mercedes Benz 8 days ago. My customer number is 1230. Actually, what happened -I was on my way from Jacksonville to Miami, although the atmosphere temperature was cooler, suddenly a sound came from the engine. At first, I thought that the engine belt is broken and I may not be able to drive the car further. However, when I felt no air coming from the air conditioner, I realized

The worst scenario is when there is a combination of the above two situations. To avoid following into such a trap it is always better that you be alert and ask few probing questions to the service center.…

A series of events in Australia’s history have lead up to the change in migration patterns. From the middle of the nineteenth century, Australia was a destination for migrants. From 1945, 6.8 million people came to Australia as new settlers. The controversy surrounding the early migration is said to be the introduction of the ‘White Australia’ policy which was one of the first legislative actions of the new Commonwealth of Australia in 1901.…

Many immigrants describe their initial experience of Australia to be one of struggles and displacement. This is likely due to a lack of attachment to the rugged Australian landscape and unfamiliar people. Raimond Gaita in his memoir Romulus, My Father, and Sobonfu Some in his short story A Place to Belong both explore the immigrant experience of struggle and displacement through contrasting views of the natural surroundings and a sense of foreign place acting as…

Today is the 100th days after I left my hometown. Even after months, I am still alone living here and repeat the same routine again and again. I couldn’t make myself here as my home. Every day I pretend I am happy to be here, the city where people amaze to come here. I miss my hometown, I miss my family, and I miss me who can make herself connect to the people in Australia, my hometown. This is a beautiful country where romance lingers in the air. I love this place. But, I just couldn’t connect to the people here. I am just “used to standing out as a foreign” in the community. “Even before I have open my mouth”, they will communicate with me in English and stare at me with the sight that telling me I am not their people. Until now, I could not find a friends who I can share my secret, gossip even have meals together. I am lost. I am asking to myself: should I change “my walk? My clothes? My hair?” Will I be able to mix in the circle if I changed? France is not where I belong. I am trap in this cage as I could not connected to the people here neither with the people I used to mix with because I am apart from them. However, now the only person who can rescue me is only I. I must struggle on my own life and work hard in this period of time as the time does not wait for us only we ourselves can find our own way to rescue from this big cage. As Charles F. Kettering said: "You can't have a better tomorrow if you are thinking about yesterday all the time.” I must keep on moving until the day I find a way out. I should not give up my life when I meet obstacles but fight with it and overcome it until I become successful. Good night parents and the people I am missing.…
