Can you imagine a world in which no one can speak? It would make it difficult to explain what we need and want, wouldn’t it? The lack of communication skills is at a downward spiral out of control; with everything out there now a days to distract us, we often forget how to communicate properly, whether it is in marriage, family, or even in the work place. Anthony Robins once said, “The way we communicate with others and with ourselves ultimately determines the quality of our lives.” When communication stops or is lacking, many different things can take place. Lack of communication can lead into a divorce, arguments between family members, and at times problems in the work place.

To begin with, a lack of communication can lead into a divorce because partners are not communicating their wants, needs, and desires. As seen on televisions shows, such as Millionaire Matchmaker, not having good communication skills can ruin a first date, or even potentially make you not dating material. If a partner feels as if they are unappreciated, at times they mentally shut themselves out of the relationship, many times ending in divorce. Keeping good communication skills between each other can resolve problems or issues before they lead into shutting yourself out from one another. (

Lack of communication is also known to cause family arguments or friendship arguments. As I was watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians the other night, I noticed they are always on their cell phones, during family dinners, family discussions, ect; everyone of those girls was texting or twittering something. I would imagine that time with family or friends with be more important than updating your status. Is the cell phone taking away the time we have to communicate with our family or are we just choosing not to communicate to one another? If more people put down their cell phone and had discussions with others that are in front of them, maybe more communication...
