Art Apocalypse Business Analysis

Purpose of Project

The purpose of this business case is to assess Art Apocalypse (AA) and their current and future situations.   Internal and external environment and industry factors were analyzed to formulate the recommendations.   Company atmospherics and customer satisfaction were all addressed through a customer survey conducted on Athens area residents and students.   Areas for improvement were derived form the customer surveys and recommendations were made.   Other objectives of the project included increased traffic flow into the studio, more repeat business, and how to improve business during the summer months.

Political and Legal

The practice of tongue splitting is the newest piercing rage and has been gaining considerable popularity.   Tongue splitting involves cutting the tongue with a scalpel, heated by a blowtorch, so that the tongue is forked.   Lawmakers in Illinois are concerned with the new piercing practice, considering it nothing short of mutilation.   Illinois state representative and dentist, David Miller, wrote a bill requiring that tongue splitting be performed by a doctor or dentist and only for medical reasons.

The bill has already passed in the Illinois House and is waiting to be voted on in the Senate.   Miller’s main concerns with the procedure are risk of infection that can be caused by bacteria in the mouth and alteration of a person’s speech.   Scar tissue and the actual splitting process may affect a person’s speech.
