Plagiarism
To avoid you must give credit whenever you use another person’s idea or opinion, any facts that are not common knowledge, quotations of another person’s actual spoken or written words.
Appearance of the paper
When writing as essay in MLA, use a well-known font, and font size,   that is easy to read for all (preferably Times New Roman, font size 12pt.). Make sure all text is double spaced and set the margins of the document to 1 inch on each side. Headers must be used to number all pages in order in the upper right-hand corner.
Title Page
Title pages are not made unless specifically asked, however you must list your name, your teacher/instructor’s name, the course and the date in the upper left-handed corner of the first page (all double spaced). Title of essay is centered; not all capital letters, underlined, italicized or in quotations. Make a header in upper right-hand corner with your last name followed by the page number.
Order of Information
Titles, Opening Paragraph, Body Paragraphs, Closing Paragraph, Bibliography.
Quotations
Every quotations needs to be documented and you must give credit to the source. For short quotations; the authors can be named in the text, then the quote is stated followed by the page number the quote is from in parenthesis and then finished by a period. Longer quotations are indented from the margin and use no quotation marks followed by the page number in parenthesis. The essay introduces the quote and uses a colon.
Documentation
MLA uses a bibliography of “Works Cites” which is placed after the main body of a term paper, article, or book. For books, state the author’s name, the title, place of publication, publisher, date and Print (Medium of publication). For Articles, state the author’s name, the article title, issue number, date of publication within parenthesis, pages, and Print.
