Abstract— Traffic congestion is a major concern for many cities throughout the world. In many countries transport system basically works on the static scenario where there is a fixed duration for which the red and the green signals are allotted for each lane. This time duration remains the same throughout the entire day whether the roads are flooded with traffic or the lane is literally empty. There is no real time calculation. Because of this the traffic is not properly adjusted and handled on the roads. Developing a sophisticated traffic monitoring and control system would result in an effective solution to this problem. Through this report I present to you an Efficient Traffic Management System that aims at determining the density of traffic in each lane thereby allotting minimum time for the least density lane derived from case study done on the same.
