Chanel S.A. (/ʃəˈnɛl/; French: [ʃaˈnɛl]) is a French, privately held company owned by Alain and Gerard Wertheimer, grandsons of Pierre Wertheimer, who was an early business partner of the couturière Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel. Chanel S.A. is a high fashion house that specializes in haute couture and ready-to-wear clothes, luxury goods and fashion accessories.[1] In her youth, Gabrielle Chanel gained the nickname Coco from her time as a chanteuse. As a fashion designer, Coco Chanel catered to women’s taste for elegance in dress, with blouses and suits, trousers and dresses, and jewellery (gemstone and bijouterie) of simple design, that replaced the opulent, over-designed, and constrictive clothes and accessories of 19th-century fashion. The Chanel product brands have been personified by fashion models and actresses, including Inès de la Fressange, Catherine Deneuve, Carole Bouquet, Vanessa Paradis, Nicole Kidman, Anna Mouglalis, Lucía Hiriart, Hope Portocarrero, Audrey Tautou, Keira Knightley and Marilyn Monroe.[2]

She took advantage of her androgynous beauty as she started to innovate with clothes, mixing men's clothing and women's apparel to create a delightfully modern look, admired by a great majority of the haute society of Paris. But, it was not only the way she dressed nor the fashion revolution she created by reinventing clothes by minimalism and more sporty looks that established her mythical image of the modern woman, but also her natural independence and desire to work to acquire her full freedom and wealth to not depend on her man, but rather to stand beside him as an equal. That was revolutionnary. Chanel's attitude didn't go along with the manners of the time. For example, women were usually not expected to be ambitious nor to acquire Financial independancy. There were kind of living in the shadows of their husbands. By not conforming to these standards, Gabrielle brought a change to the perception of women, by showing that it is possible to pursue your own dream and not depend on anybody but yourself. For example, in her relationship with her lovers, she was always exuding a strong mind and acting in function of her…

The tragedies of the holocaust forever altered history. One of the most detailed accounts of horrific events from the Nazi regime comes from Elie Wiesel’s Night. He describes his traumatic experiences in German concentration camps, mainly Buchenwald, and engages his readers from a victim’s point of view. He bravely shares the grotesque visions that are permanently ingrained in his mind. His autobiography gives readers vivid, unforgettable, and shocking images of the past. It is beneficial that Wiesel published his work, if he had not the world might not have known the extent of the Nazis reign. He exposes the cruelty of man, and the misuse of power. Through a lifetime of tragedy, Elie Wiesel struggled internally to resurrect his religious beliefs as well as his hatred for the human race. He shares these emotions to the world through Night.…

The year 1906 found Chanel in the spa resort town of Vichy. Vichy boasted a profusion of concert halls, theatres and cafes where Chanel hoped to find success as a performer. Chanel's youth and physical charms impressed those for whom she auditioned, but her singing voice was marginal and she failed to find stage work.[12] Obliged to find employment, she took work at the "Grande Grille", where as a donneuse d'eau she was one of the females whose job it was to dispense glasses of the purportedly curative mineral water for which Vichy was renowned.[13] When the Vichy season ended, Chanel returned to Moulins, and her former haunt "La Rotonde". She now realized that a serious stage career was not in her future.[14]…
