MIS Real Case Assignment for Nepalese Context

Students ar expected complete this assignment based on the below questionarie. They are expected to take a real case of an Enterprise which has on major parts depends IT-enabled business processes.
Students are expected to complete this assignment on individual basis and submit a final report and do a final presentation at the end of this MIS course module.
The questionare are divided into different sections that would help you understand how an Enterprise functions starting for the planning phase itself.

A. Planning and Organizing

1. What is the long term IT strategy of your organization?
a. Main business strategy and degree of presence of IT component in that strategy

2. Define the information architecture of your organization?
a. Information architecture – technology used
b. Presence of appropriate system to optimize the use of information —Yes or No
c. Presence of corporate data dictionary – Yes or No (this information is used for mgmt decision making)

3. Which technological direction is your organization taking?

This requires the creation of a technological infrastructure plan and an architecture board that sets and manages clear and realistic expectations of what technology can offer in terms of products, services and delivery mechanisms. The plan should be regularly updated and encompasses aspects such as systems architecture, technological direction, acquisitions plans, standards, migration strategies and contingency. This enables timely responses to changes in the competitive environment, economies of scale for information systems staffing and investments as well as improved interoperability of platforms and applications.
