The Unit 2 Individual project states that I am to determine the year-to-year percentage annual growth in total net sales for the Micro Chip Computer Corporation. After looking at the chart I do not think that the Micro Computer Corporation is going to make the +10% annual revenue growth in 2009. I got this by taking each year and adding them together and then dividing them to get the year-to-year growth. After doing this I took all of the percentages and averaged them out. This is showing that there is a -3.1% drop. Also using the CAGR there is a -6.8% which is not helping the company show that it will make the revenue growth. With this it will be very hard for the company to actually make a +10% revenue growth in 2009. Below is showing the loss and gains that were made every year.…

The income statement and balance sheet are very important in determining how profitable the company has been when looking at trends. As the company looks at the horizontal and vertical analysis for the past two years, we have found that the net income has increased. The income statement shows that the cost of goods sold decreased by 16%, selling and administrative expenses increased by 5%, and interest expense stayed the same when comparing it to the previous year. The balance sheet we can determine that the assets and liabilities both decreased. The company’s overall expenses decreased in the past year along with the company’s revenues, but the profit…

Computer technology has made incredible progress in the roughly 55 years since the first general-purpose electronic computer was created. Today, less than a thousand dollars will purchase a personal computer that has more performance, more main memory, and more disk storage than a computer bought in 1980 for $1 million. This rapid rate of improvement has come both from advances in the technology used to build computers and from innovation in computer design. Although technological improvements have been fairly steady, progress arising from better computer architectures has been much less consistent. During the first 25 years of electronic computers, both forces made a major contribution; but beginning in about 1970, computer designers became largely dependent upon integrated circuit technology. During the 1970s, performance continued to improve at about 25% to 30% per year for the mainframes and minicomputers that dominated the industry. The late 1970s saw the emergence of the microprocessor. The ability of the microprocessor to ride the improvements in integrated circuit technology more closely than the less integrated mainframes and minicomputers led to a higher rate of improvement—roughly 35% growth per year in performance.…
