The MBA Decision
There are so many benefits of receiving a Masters in Business Administration that I considered when deciding to pursue this degree with The University of Phoenix. Some benefits are directly related to characteristics that highlight my personalities and others are goals that have been embedded in me years ago. Of these benefits, the most important to me are higher education, financial awareness and business expertise.
Higher education is a personal value that motivates me to pursue my master’s degree. It is also very in tune with my ENFP personality that highlights me as a values oriented person. Having a family from a different country exposes me to cultures that do not have the same opportunities as people with only an American background. The value of education is extremely high in my family because it has not always been as accessible as it is now. The opportunity to master the art of business administration is one that I do not take for granted. As an employee of The University of Phoenix, an organization that promotes higher education is an accomplishment in itself. I am working as an enrollment counselor, thus directly changing the lives of students every day, by allowing them to pursue and a achieve higher education. Going through the process of being a student allows me to be more passionate about my job. Passion is a characteristic that is most correctly identified with my Type A personality, because it is very important to me to understand the student experience as I promote it. Paired with the benefit to my job and passion to promote higher education, I am afforded the benefit of going to school with tuition reimbursement. This benefit is very significant in my decision to pursue my MBA. It would be a disappointment to myself and my family values if I didn’t make the most of an opportunity as significant as this one.
