This essay will look into creating and managing effective teams in the workplace. There are different types of groups and teams that exist and many different styles of management that can be used to develop effective work teams. This essay will simulate a work team that was put together for a project and the management style used to motivate, support, and develop this work team to be successful. It will also discuss areas for improvement and the results of the simulated work team.
In this simulation as stated on www.corptrain.phoenix.edu MGT-345 Creating and Managing Effective teams “Luxurion, Auto is a recently formed luxury auto manufacturer that is competing with the likes of BMW. Mercedes and Lexus. Luxurion’s executive board has decided to assemble a team in charge of design features and innovations through industry research and benchmarking. The team will include members of varied expertise from different departments at the company.” As the General Manager of this team the first responsibility will be to review the positions that are going to be necessary for this work team to accomplish the task at hand and to seek qualified candidates as the company’s success will depend a great deal on this team’s success. Luxurion has graciously assigned a mentor to help out with this project so that the GM will not be alone. The mentor will provide feedback and keep the GM on tack with the end goals.
After evaluating the project it is apparent that a cross functional task force will need to be the type of team needed as it will bring employees together from different work areas that will be a temporary group with deadlines and will be able to disband easily once the project is completed.
