Methods help to determine specific findings but specific methods help to determine the best research for the methods determinations. Clarifying the methods and their key characteristics plus their differences should help with the method determination for the research to become utilized in the most appropriate manner. These methods consist of the Quantitative, Qualitative, Mixed and Action and show the researcher various determinations to clarify the findings in the most appropriate means.

Quantitative research is done through a use of data such as a consumer survey or numerical information. These methods gain the researchers knowledge to appropriately estimate any future events or quantities and can be converted to a numerical outcome. Measuring through a specific attention to the market phenomena can involve statistical analysis. In this method of research the data is collected by asking the same series of questions. This method is structured and involves a larger group or interview questionnaires. This research’s main objection is to develop theories and/or hypotheses which pertain to a phenomenon. This research is also used in the social sciences which are found within psychology, sociology and political science. This method helps to verify if the hypotheses is true.

Qualitative is defined as data which is based on numerical data to show an understanding for how things appear or are determined. This method uses no specific set of guidelines but explores the various data in more depth.   This research is carried out via personal interviews and known techniques within discussions of groups with a generalization of findings.
