It was 12:00am I heard my phone ring and I wondered who would call so late the number was unknown to me but I answered anyway “hello” I said and a familiar voice answered “hey Gaspar what are u doing come over and chill” it was Charles nervously I responded “ill be over there in a bit”. I was nervous because of the events that had unfolded over the past 4 days that involved me him and his girlfriend it all started on Tuesday. It was 6th period and we were about to get out of school me, Valencia and erns had plans to go hang out at Charles’s house. Finally the bell ring and me Valencia head out of class to met Charles and erns we meet them at the front and Charles has brought his girlfriend Sol along we dint have a ride to his house so the five of us head out walking towards Charles’s house the walk is about a half mile. The halfway point to Charles house is the saint josephs church as we pass it Valencia decides it would be fun a scale the church wall which makes the security there angry with us and they kick us out as we leave Charles turns back and yells fuck you the guards act like they dint hear. We walk the rest of the way to our destination and when we arrive we began to play the Xbox 360. Sol seems really bored and Charles acts as if she doesn’t exist me and Valencia find this funny. We have been hanging out for a while and it’s getting late so I told the guys that I had to go home cause my parents are strict they think it’s funny but I leave anyways I get home shower, eat, brush my teeth and go to bed cause am tired. I wake up at 6:30 the next day and get ready to go to school when I arrive at school sol sees me and she begins to talk to me she asks me if I’ve seen Charles I tell her no but that he’s probably not going to come today she looks disappointed and goes into class. The day has progressed and it’s the end of fifth period we see each other as we change classes she says hi and I respond what’s up we began to talk and I walk her to class I tell her

The book Rooftops of Tehran by Mahbod Seraji was very interesting, intriguing but also historical. This book showed me many human experiences that we all share like laughter, tears, love, fear but most of all hope. It also gave me a different perspective about Iran at the 70s which I totally didn’t know. It shows how the government dealt with people who stood for their rights by not facing them but either torturing them. Yet with all the horrible things the government did, there is a better side where people care and love each other. Rooftops of Tehran changed my perception about the prevalence of corruption, the family and social values, and the importance of knowledge.…

He uses the contrast of his own opinion and the beliefs of Woodward to show how after a while it is impossible to escape a pointless mindset. Washington finds joy in discarded relics such as old nails, and wood, and finds simple joy in simple life. He settled on life, in his lifeless town and spent his life with his animals, his stories, his beliefs and his box of “A Hundred Thousand Straightened Nails.”(Hall)…

“Scouts of Honor” was a video that shocked me to know that the largest youth movement in the country, in which values are treating everyone equally and standing up for what you believe in, would ban gays to be a part of their organization. One in five boys in American are a boy scout. In Petalima, California, troop # 174, a twelve-year-old boy by the name of Steven Cozza started an anti-gay stand by the name of “Scouting for all”. They held petitions and set up stands at local grocery stored. They also went to San Francisco to the gay freedom day to take a stand. Steven chose to do this because of the expulsion of gays from the scouts. The New York City Police Department even opted to help in their efforts when they heard about what Cozza was doing. Cozza spoke about the increased suicide rates of teen who are searching for acceptance and trying to figure out why society is so against the homosexual community. It was justified that a gay man as a leader of a boy-scout troop would in turn be a child molester. Even the Boy Scout Association of America stated that studies show gays are less likely to be child molesters that heterosexuals. In the case against Tim Curry, the Supreme Court ruled that the Boy Scouts of American was a private institution and they could ban gays from their organization if they so desired. The boy-scout handbook teaches you to love everyone, not just certain people. Steven showed this contradiction to Americans at his rallies. Scott Cozza, Steven’s father, was forced to resign at Assistant Scout Master of Steven’s troop because f his involvement in the “Scouting for All” campaign. The banning of homosexuals from the boy scouts defeats the puproses and teachings of the boy scouts morality as a whole. In 1999, James Dale won a court case against the Boy Scouts of America stating that they were a public association and that they couldn’t discriminate on gay members. In 2000, the Supreme Court overruled their decision and stood by…

Freud believes that it is part of everyone’s personality to seek pleasure through violence; it is part of the “ID.” However, the ego negotiates between the ID and superego, meaning the majority of people can regulate between the morals of society and their own pleasures. I agree with this, as does Sara Shepard, the author of “Pretty Little Liars.” I believe that people who seek pleasure through violence are ill minded, and have psychological issues, due to the fact that the ego should be able to tell the brain to follow the morals of society. ‘A,’ a character from Pretty Little Liars, nobody can solve the mystery regarding who exactly ‘A’ is, however they are ill-minded, and seek pleasure in harming others as a joke. Ill-minded people like this are evil.…

We all have judged a book by its cover, thinking that it wouldn't be worth to open and read just because the cover doesn't look so cool and popular like other books that we know today. However, as soon as you read it, you find out that you were wrong and that the book is nice and interesting, probably the best book you have ever read! See? This is the problem that we face nowadays. Most of the time, people judge when they don't know the whole story, we judge someone because they look different and don’t have the same appearance as you. They might look scary, lonely and shy. But who knows, what if they are really nice and polite. A person shouldn’t be about his appearance or looks or if he is pleasing. It is what is on the inside that really matters.…
