It's reasonable to assume that he may begin question what the hell he's fighting for. These marines they need something, they need what you can provide and they need it tonight.'…

BODY: A Message to Garcia is a small but inspirational essay written in 1899. It tells the story of the initiative of a soldier, a class of 1881 West Point graduate. This essay exhorts the reader to apply this attitude to his or her own career and in life as an avenue to success. It starts by telling us about the conflicts growing between the United States and the Spanish, who at the time ruled Cuba. President at the time William McKinley saw a great value in establishing contact with the Cuban rebels who he thought would make a valuable ally in case of war with Spain. President McKinley asked Colonel Arthur L. Wagner to suggest a dependable officer to make contact with Calixto Garcia, one of the leaders of the rebels. The first chapter is titled Ethos, which describes to the reader what it is that makes a Marine, and leading Marines, different from every other walk of life. Being a Marine a full-time gig, never a part-time mindset or a paycheck. When Marines do things in the civilian world, they often hear statements like "that's such a Marine thing to do", or "only a Marine..." This is because Marines have a special way of going about things, a different way of looking at life and all it entails. Young people join the Marines because they want to be different, because they want to stand out. Marines desire the challenge and all that comes with it, because it is under these conditions that we form the cherished and unbreakable elitists mindset and sense of brotherhood so well adorned by the Corp. All Marines wear the title Marine as…
Though this is based on a true story there is still a message. It’s to every marine who wanted to give up on anything. The will and the strength to push forward in every struggle is part of what makes you into a good marine. If we…
As I entered the Marine Corps almost five years ago, I had no idea as to where my life would lead. Looking back now I cherish the memories, live in the present, and anxiously await the future. There are many items that represent who I am, but only a few that carry enough meaning to describe my journey through life.…

There are multiple reasons in which I enlisted myself into the United States Army. Some of the reasons are to improve who I am as a person mentally and physically, move away from the place that I grew up in, and last but not least be able to one day look back on my life and say that I did something. So in this essay I will get into further details on to why the three main points as in to which I choose for this essay.…
I am presented here today with this essay because I made a very bad decision on the whole aspect of field-day inspection. As I now know, field day is crucial and essential to new and old Marines. It helps biuild and maintain dicipline and character. In my failing to field day as Staff Sergeant Shake instructed me to do so, I showed him that I am not dependable. I showed lack of Dependability. And by doing so, he has every right to believe that I can not be relied upon to perform my duties properly or that I cannot be trusted to complete a job.…
The main reason for this essay is because I did not follow out proper orders and was not at the correct place of duty for PT/Accountability formation at the correct time. Although there was a miscommunication, granted on my half, there is still no excuse for me to miss a formation. I want to be an excellent soldier and I want to excel in the military. The first step I need to put into action is always making sure I am at the appropriate place of duty at the correct time or preferably with time to spare. This is a simple task that is easy and painless to ensure, and it will be accomplished.…

It was also payday, my first payday as a Marine, which made the day even more…
