“Nurses dealing with patients experiencing acute stress reaction may have a hard time during the assessment. It may interfere with the ability to cooperate with the nursing procedures and medical examinations,” (Thobaben, 2006, p. 664). As a nurse in the future I believe that in order to address this problem, it is important that I should really know first all the necessary data or past medical history of my patient. In that way, I will be knowledgeable on how to approach them or what intervention is to be rendered. This is to assure that I will not alleviate their situation and gain their cooperation.
