There are many debates about which is the main factor individuals or teams win in sports, the strong body or mental attitudes. Someone assert that only the fittest and strongest athletes can win. But others argue that the success in sports because of their mental attitudes. This essay will discuss both sides in the debates.. There are some reasons for some people to believe that the fittest and strongest individuals and teams can attain success in sports. First of all, in terms of physical factor, the fittest and strongest body is necessary for victory. If Ming Yao is not 2-meter tall, he may not play the basketball so well. Moreover, the person who has strong and fit body can easy to win in some sports which need the physical strength. It is unthinkable that a weak team can win a strong team in American football game. Another argument can be used to support this view is the sport is a careers now. All of them have the strong body. Obviously, the amateur can not win the professional in sports. On the other side of the debate, some people argue that success needs the mental attitude. Apparently, the good mental attitude is one of the success factors. If an athlete has desire of win, he will spend more time to exercise himself to achieve success. Plenty of evidence has shown that sports need person have perseverance characters, which in turn proves that mental attitudes is important. For instance, a Marathon runner must have great fortitude to run such a long distance. In summary, I would say that the fit and strong body is the one success factors, but the mental attitudes is same important as the physical. Overall, I think people should pay attention to both of them in sports.
