An original metaphor, “Men are from Mars, women are from Venus” is based on the idea that both genders have entirely different communication styles, emotional needs and personal standards. This gives a sense that males and females come from two totally different plants! The way women communicate is far more discussion-oriented, and men on the other hand would rather focus on activity over conversation. Women prefer to vent out emotion, or discuss their goals/dilemmas; Men still remain action-oriented.
Assumed roles, principles and rules applied strictly to one’s gender; the double-standard. Women are seen unnecessary and lousy by men in a working environment, males assume an attitude that is sexist. In this era females are just as likely to become firefighter or even a professional body builder. Men tend to be stubborn, ignorantly incapable of grasping the fact that woman are stronger than they look. Females phenomenally grip numerous problems at once, capable of being more understanding of slight complications. They can put up with rambunctious children along with an egotistic husband for extensive hours at a time while dealing with thousands of house-hold chores at once. “For all the women here who use “fragileness” to avoid work or as a sexual ploy, there are men who try to hide theirs, all the while clinging to an adolescent dependency on woman to cook their meals, wash their clothes, and keep the ranch house warm in winter.”(Ehrlich,Gretel, About Men; p. 201)
What would happen if the planets suddenly became out of line? The planets would spin out of orbit causing havoc, and possibly crash into on another. This is similar to what would happen if men suddenly came from Venus, and woman from Mars! Metaphorically speaking, woman would have the mentality of a man and visa-versa.
