MEmorable event in my life
The Memorable Event of My Life

Very often people don't remember their day-by-day routine, but if something unusual or extra ordinary happens. It can be memorable and remarkablefor the rest of their lives.

For me, such remarkable event was the light show of dancing fountains. I saw this show for the first time when I was 10 years old. Since that time I saw shows like that several times, but the feelings of the very first time are still in my haert and they are unforgettable.

The show had to start during sunset, and since it was arranged on the bank of the rive on a hot summer day everything around bacame pink. Trees, river, air, people around -everything was paintad with a tender pink colour. That day was extremely hot but in the evening the air turned to be fresh and clean. The blowing breeze was very pleasent. The show was delayed. At first we were nervous about that, but now I understand that it was planned ahead and we were really lucky to see the sunset. Very soon it became darker and at last the show started.

The show was accompanied by modern music and the fountains really danced and people danced too. Everybody was so excited!

I convinced my freind to go with me, which was not easy because she didn't want to join that "crowd"( as she called all the people at the show). But thanks to that evening we becam e much closer and that was an event we remember and recall very often.

I would recimmend to those who didn't see dancing fountains to have a chance and see them! It was an unforgettable, remarkable event.

The scenery was pretty clever throughout the performance. There was a stack of hay which made me think that it was back in the olden days when they rode horses and medicine did not really exist. It looked real like i was in this old town. It effected the production by allowing the perforers to easily move around and provided enough information for the viewer to understand what was going on. the scenery made me visualise me being with the performers on the…

The first thing that caught my eyes was the colorful and unique dance regalia or outfit worn by the dancers. Bright colors such as yellow, orange, red, and light blue wrapped around the dancers beautifully. The older looking male dancers were wearing the feather warbonnets on the head and bustles on the back. Dancers with striking multicolored beaded and fringed outfits were crowding the dance floor. Some of the female dancers dressed simple with their colorful fringed shawls. I noticed that some dancers even had bells attached to their ankles or dance outfits that they wore. I also was told that the feathers and leathers used were inherited from their father up to their great grandfather. The sight was so magnificent – it made me excited to stay for the show.…

What i first noticed when I first entered the performance center was a duet dancing slowly. The girls’ costume was a purple color and she was wearing a tank top and a flowy skirt. The male dancer was wearing simple purple pants that were obviously moveable. I particularly noticed the lighting that was on the floor. On the floor seemed to be a projection of snowflakes and cool blue lighting on top.…

On March 26, 2016 I went to the 102nd University of Oklahoma Spring Powwow hosted in Lloyd Noble Center. The American Indian Student Association has been hosting this event every spring. It is known as the longest running powwows in the nation and the world. Besides that, it is a unique opportunity to express the beauty of the native culture. Personally, it was an interesting experience to me to discover the creativity of this culture through their dances, songs and artwork.…

A week before the event I was at home and I received a phone call from my guy best friend. I answered and he was yelling “We’re going to EDC Vegas. Get your stuff ready!”. A day before the Electrical Daisy Carnival we drove all day just to get there, taking turns. We were so excited, playing Electrical Dance Music, and jumping in the car like we were kangaroos. We got to the hotel, went to our room, left our stuff, and then went out to explore Vegas for a little before the event, which was the next day.…

    Salsa Jazz Concert Report

It’s not really the type of concert I would have typically gone to for fun but I did enjoy myself. I think the fact that it was salsa made it more interesting since I am Hispanic. I caught myself bobbing my head to the rhythm, clapping my hands, and tapping my foot in some of the performances. One of my friends was in the concert so it was nice to see him play on the drums and how he had a solo. Also another guy from my jazz class was in the concert and he played very well and it was riveting to see the way he played his solo on the sax. I don’t know if I would ever go to another jazz concert for fun but who knows maybe I would if it was a salsa one. I am glad that I got to go and see this because I probably would not have experienced this if it wasn’t because I had to. It did open up my eyes more to the world of jazz and seeing how different it is to see them playing live than from a computer or just listening to the songs. To see it all happening was fascinating. I would tell anyone that they should go some time in their life to a jazz concert, specifically a salsa one. If I out of everyone enjoyed it than anyone…

Each choir was singing a different piece by John Rutter. In our choir there were about 8 different choirs that came together for this. The HCCYC was the only choir that included any middle schoolers, but since I skipped first grade, I was the only eleven-year-old on the stage throughout the entire performance. The concert started at eight-o'clock that night and we were the first act. We walk out of stage and everything hits us all at once. The entire venue is absolutely gorgeous, even more so when it is filled up with people. Everyone gets into their places, and Mr. Rutter had us pull out our music, and he started the orchestra. The entire room filled with the gorgeous sounds of the brass, woodwind, strings, and the heavy pounding of the percussion. We start to sing this glorious piece, and that feeling right then is one I will never forget. We all became so overwhelmed with the beauty of the music and it was simply a night to remember. This was the largest, most intense concert I have ever performed in. I got to have such an amazing experience on stage with such an amazing group of people in such a legendary venue, and it has given a whole different perspective on what making music really…

The dance performance that I chose and went to see was Thunderbird American Indian Dancers. I chose this performance, because of my interest in the Native American culture and deep history in this country. Interestingly, dancing is an important art form in their culture with many stories that go along with them. Nonetheless, this was a performance I exceedingly enjoyed and would see again.…

The band’s name was ‘Coltrane Revisited’, the people on instruments were Joe Lavano on saxophone, Steve Kuhn on piano, Dennis Irwin on bass, and Idris Muhammad on the drums. All of the members of the band seemed very into their music, they were attentive to the other band members as well. The singer blew the crowd away with her emotion. There were a lot of young people to my surprise, at the concert as well as elderly people. They both got up and started to dance while she was singing.…

The dance performance that I watched was by the San Diego Dance Theater, Library Dances. The dance was taken place at the Chula Vista Civic Center Library. There were 3 different dances during the event. The two dances that were choreographed by Jean Isaacs were “Two Forms” and “Water Lilies”. She is also the founder of San Diego Dance Theater. The other dance “Blot” was from a young choreographer’s showcase named Gina Bolles-Soresnsen. The dance occurred at a library, which was very intriguing and exciting. Libraries tend to not have a lot of art displayed. It was a first and definitely a good change to see dances being performed at a library. There was a very huge crowd watching the dances. I was very surprised and thrilled to see how many people still appreciate art in the form of dance. I saw all different kinds of people, children, old people younger people who watched the performances. It gave me hope that art is not dead and is still alive and thriving amongst all crowds. The audience including me was very welcomed by Jean Isaacs herself. She gave us a brief summary of her experience, her company and her dancers. It gave me a good idea what to expect and learn from the dance performance I was about to watch. I greatly admired the dancers’ bodies that moved freely and openly to the audience. It felt as if they were trying to send a message across. I was very surprised how different it is watching a dance on YouTube and watching it live. I can feel the dancers’ emotions and feelings through live dance that I cannot achieve watching online or on video. All three dances were very unique and had its own meaning and feeling to it. As each dance was performed, I saw myself changing emotions from one dance to another. The change of moods, gave a very great and energizing performance. Overall, I was very intrigued and amazed with the dance performances that day. It was not easy to depict their meaning but surely I did enjoy their dance a lot. It left…

On February 24th, I attended the West Michigan Concert Winds “Winner and Winds” concert. West Michigan Concert Winds is a volunteer group that performs instrumental music to the community. This ensemble contains a wide range of musical talents from all different backgrounds. Some members are college students, some teachers. There was also many current or retired band directors apart of the ensemble. They performed all different genres of music from a Sousa march to an Irish wake by A.J. Potter. There was also a scholarship acceptance performance by a local high school junior who was amazing at the clarinet.…

When I was eight years old, my mom took me to my first formal concert in Carnegie Hall to hear the Cincinnati Pops play because her office got her and her colleague VIP tickets for Christmas. I didn’t think I’d enjoy it all that much because I was never a fan of classical music at that age, but I loved every second of that concert, or the fact that I was in New York City. That’s still debatable.…
