As you requested, I have provided the entry level essentials for financial analysts. The research contains: responsibilities, current employment figures, opportunities, qualifications required, salary, events that affect financial analysts, and how suitable the field of finance is for me.
Nature of Work
The Occupational Outlook Handbook lets us know that financial analysts provide analysis and guidance to businesses and individuals in making investment decisions. There are two basic types of financial analysts. The buy side which deals with companies, organizations, or people who have a lot of money to invest. The analysts pull together investments strategies the best fits the clients needs. The second side is the sell side. The sell side sells the actual product. Analysts can buy or sell to investment firms and securities firms. Both analysts are equally important in this field. (pg.1 para. 1&2)
Day to Day Responsibilities: Financial Analysts start the process by setting up an appointment with the client. The appointment consists of developing a clear understanding of the client’s wishes and needs. First, all the information about the client’s finances must be obtain. Second, the analysts develop a financial plan that points out any problem areas. Third, the recommendations are made to improve the problem areas and increase investment profit. Then select the perfect investment compatible with the client’s financial goals. Taking into consideration risk factors, expectations, and investment return. This process may be repeated once a year establishing constant communication with the client’s. Informing client’s about any new changes that can affect their financial plan.
