Policy and strategy formulation is an ongoing exercise requiring consistent commitment and follow-up. It can be done in small and disparate way and this is often already being done is most tertiary educational establishment.
We have rolled out effective and workable procurement policies and procedures. A non-disclosure agreement signed by all the parties ensures the safety and confidentiality of commercially sensitive information. Regular maintenance of suppliers’ master files and performance evaluation records ensures correct knowledge and assessment of the suppliers. An effective vendor registration system ensures all interested vendors are evaluated and given the opportunity to participate in future bids.
Competition ensures that equipments and services are purchased at the right price. It also enables us to maximize the benefits of our capital and operating expenditure. Fairness in competition is ensured through comprehensive market evaluation and analysis of vendors’ technical capabilities, financial strengths as well as commercial competitiveness.
Bangladesh is a developing country, and the present government is striving relentlessly to attain rapid economic development in the country. Many programs taken so far have been carried out successfully.
The industrial sector is likely to grow rapidly over the next decade raising its contribution to the country's GDP to 30 to 35 percent, and the workforce in this sector is expected to increase to 35 percent of national employment need. In order to attain this growth in this sector, special importance has been given in the Industrial Policy on agro-based and agro processing industries and on steps to overcome possible adverse conditions in the export oriented garment sector.
