Business Conduct at McDonald’s

A standard of business conduct is a set of rules outlining the responsibilities of the employers and employees in a certain company. It requires a differentiation between right and wrong in the industry to help the owners run the business efficiently. The company chosen for analysis is McDonald's, which is the most popular fast food restaurant chains in the world, with more than 32,000 restaurants, employing more than 1.5 million people and serving more than 60 million people in more than 100 countries every day. For more than 50 years McDonald’s has been a company guided by core values. The founder, Ray Kroc, built this great company on the six basic principles that continue to guide employees’ behavior, actions and decisions every day.

McDonald's should sell the foods and beverages that adhere to a high standard of sanitation. In addition, They have a comprehensive program to ensure the safety of all toys and promotional items. All of products in McDonald's must meet the applicable government requirements. Meanwhile, The dining room provided to consumers must be clean as well. It is the responsibility of every McDonald's employees to follow all the strict food sanitation policies and procedures. Notify the manager if there is a problem relating to the safety of products.

Be committed to employees
Employment practices: The company does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, gender, disability or any other factor. The company's recruitment practices largely focus on the capabilities of the potential candidate rather than on their respective race, cultural backgrounds etc. Respect and dignity: McDonald's believes that all the employee deserve to be treated with fairness, respect and dignity. Employers need to treat their employees as they would themselves want to be treated. The use of physical punishment, threats of violence or other forms of sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse are not acceptable.

Freedom of association: Employees must be given the right to decide how their best interests will be represented in the workplace. This includes the right to freely associate and bargain collectively. McDonald's respects the right of employees to associate with any group which are permitted by applicable laws and regulations. Child and forced labor: The labor of children cannot be used. McDonald's always ensures that their employees work for them voluntarily. Laws on restrictions for employees of certain ages must be followed. Diversity: McDonald's is committed to diversity and equal opportunities for everyone. They respect the unique attributes and perspectives of every employee, and they rely on these diverse perspectives to help them build and improve their relationships with customers and business partners. They embrace the diversity of our employees, franchisees, customers and business partners, and work hard to make sure everyone at McDonald’s feels welcome. Safe workplace: Provide a safe and healthful working environment for the employees. At a minimum, potable drinking water, adequate ventilation, fire exits and essential safety equipment, access to emergency medical care must be provided. The employees are expected to comply with safety rules and practices and to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their fellow employees. Alcohol and Drugs: Employees are not permitted to possess or use alcohol or illegal drugs in the workplace, or while engaged in any job-related activity. They may not work under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs or any substance that could prevent them from performing their job safety and effectively.
