MC DONALDS RESTAURANT LIMITED
Mc Donald’s is the leading global foodservice retailer with more than 30000 local restaurants serving nearly 50 million people on more than 119 countries each day. It serves the world some of its favourite foods- big mac, quarter pounder, and chicken mc nuggets. The first mc Donald’s restaurant opened by ray kroc was the des plaines restaurant at Illinois, USA in 1955. Mc Donald’s has one agenda-providing 100% customer satisfaction and seeks to achieve it by Q, S, C & V.
PEOPLE AT MC DONALDS
Mc Donald’s is a large-scale employer and employs about 60 people. Most of them are paid per hour and referred to as “crew members” and other hourly paid employees who work alongside include training squad members.55%of mc Donald’s hourly paid staff are students. The remaining company employees are salaried managers working in either the corporates or regional departments.
COMMITMENTS TO TRAINING
Mc Donald’s is an organisation that demonstrates a strategic commitment to training and invest more than 1$ billion annually in training. It initially aimed over his cherished standards of quality, service, cleanliness and values. Ray kroc was initially expanding Mc Donald’s in 1950’s and 60’s he avoided those employees with direct experience or formal training.
ORIENTATION AND INDUCTION
First stage of training is welcome meeting which is a must attend and gives a overview of the company including job role, food, hygiene and safety training. Welcome training is followed by structured development programme.
TRAINING AND MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT:
After induction and team orientation session every employee embarks on their individual training plans. Mc Donald’s places great emphasis on training. Training is delivered and assessed Much is done ‘shoulder to shoulder’ with a manager or training squad member from the restaurant.
