MBA Student Society Sponsorship Package
Message from Brock regarding VIU and VIU MBA Society and the events
Omar's speech
To Whom it May Concern, The MBA Student Society Association had been created for the purpose of promoting the quality of our students and the quality of education received at Vancouver Island University. Our program is a dual degree program including both a
Master in Business Administration and an Master of Science in International Business (MScIB). We were the first in VIU history to represent the school in competing the National MBA Games Event. Within 2 months we had raised over $42,000 to send a full scale team of students represent Nanaimo proudly and had raised $2500 for the chosen charity of the Ronald
McDonald National House Charity. The VIU MBA Student Society consists of over 180 members. We have also participated in case competitions in collaboration with University of Victoria, University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser
University. This year will be the first year in our provincial history that VIU will be hosting and founding the BC MBA
Games involving MBA schools and students across BC and Seattle. The competition will consist of Spirit, Sport and Case competitions. We are looking to build strategic partnerships within the local, provincial and national business community. Below is our mission statement and vision for the student society:

1.

A succession plan for MBA student society to harvest next generation leadership with a strong code of ethics and promotions of society community activities through an effective comprehensive communication strategy.

2.

To provide valuable experience, networking and opportunities for MBA Students to foster personal growth and development in preparing students for their life and careers outside of the program.

3.

To integrate the classes and to provide a unification of the MBA Program with one heart

Driving me every day to put my best foot forward in academics, sport, fine art, not letting my time here go to waste. This mindset has allowed for my dedication to turn into amazing experiences. Including the honor of representing the school throughout the levels of the tri-tiered curriculum. In the fine art community, I have participated in British Columbia's Provincial Debate Qualifiers, the Canadian National Speech and Debate Seminar, featured artwork for Bean Around the World, and submissions to the National Film Festival for Talented Youth. Although a large part of my strengths are submerged in the arts, I have been able to push my boundaries regarding sport.…

Regarding the situation on the market, it is quite obvious that the number of BSL’s competitors has been constantly rising due to the rising demand for MBA and EMBA programs in contemporary business environment. According to the data presented, there are more than 20 universities and business schools providing MBA and EMBA programs in Switzerland. Moreover, the process of globalization has created new challenges for business schools. From this point of view, Katrin Muff’s enthusiasm about innovating BSL and its educational programs has proved its value. Moreover, Katrin Muff has conducted a compelling research of the school position on the market (e.g. SWOT analysis, interviews and questionnaires, etc.), which shows the necessity of the changes suggested by Katrin Muff. She has analyzed the stakeholders’ desires and tried to understand and focus on the expectations of each of them. That is why, in my opinion, the differentiation strategy, implemented by Katrin Muff will definitely bring results and benefits…
