1. What factors do you think have contributed to Suraj bhai’s success? Was he merely “ in the right place at the right time,” or are there chareacteristics about him that contribute to his success? Answer: Following factors have contributed to success of Suraj Bhai. ❖ Self Belief : These is established perception about the attitude object. What you believe to be true. ❖ Intention to learn : Surajbhai has intention to keep on learning. This was the biggest factor in his success. He worked hard for receiving his Diamond & Diamond grading certification from Gemological Institute. He also learned English Language to overcome communication hurdles. ❖ Hard working : He had determination to work hard. ❖ Clarity in goal : Suraj Bhai’s goal was very clear. ❖ Ready to take risk : Inorder to excel in any field, it is very much important to take calculated risk. Suraj Bhai had the guts to take risk. ❖ Will to win : Suraj Bhai was very determined towards his goal. He had strong self belief and commitment to win. ❖ Motivation and resourcefull : Suraj Bhai had a lot of self motivation. Motivation refers to forces within a person that affect the direction, intensity and persistency of voluntary behavior. Suraj Bhai was very resorcefull. 2. How do you believe Suraj Bhai would score on the Big Five dimensions of personality (extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, emotional stability, openness to experience)? Which ones would he score high on? Which ones might he score low on? Answer: Suraj Bhai would score highest on the openness to experience Emotional stability
3. Do you believe that Suraj Bhai is high or low on core self-evaluation? On what information did you base your decision. Answer: I believe that Surajbhai is high on core self evaluation. Surajbhai knews his strengths and weakness very well. It is very important that on should be totally aware of his own limitation. And after knowing the limitations one should try to overcome it. Suraj bhai did exactly the same thing. He was not fluent in speaking English. He took it as a challenge and learned English. Suraj Bhai was also not aware of the diamond technicalities. He worked hard and received Diamond and Diamonds Grading certification from the Gemological institute. Suraj bhai is very ambitious person and to attain his ambitious he has done lot of hard work. 4. What information about Suraj Bhai suggests that he has a proactive personality? Answer: Suraj Bhai seems to be proactive personality due to following information’s outlined in the chapter : ❖ Surajbhai learned languages which might have created hurdles for him in communicating. ❖ He worked on local shopping centre to gain knowledge. ❖ He overcame his limitations on knowledge of Diamonds by taking diamond grading certification from Gemological Institute. ❖ Suraj Bhai quickly realized that working at local shopping centre will not take him anywhere. The above factors clearly indicates that Suraj Bhai was very proactive for achieving his targets.
1. Do you belive whistle blowing is good for organizations and its members, of is it, as David Stetler believes, often a means to extort large financial gains from companies? Answer: Is having strong ethics whether they are ethical or unethical practices makes it easier for a person to take action than for that person to process the making of decisions and choices for today's ethically working environment? I feel that in this case of Douglas Duran former VP of sales for TAP, it was his good ethics and intuition to correct the wrongdoing of the organization while using the precise process of decision-making and chose to go through the court system to punish the company for what they may have been doing towards...
