Introduction
This investigation which I carried out is closely related to statistics, where its main objective is to help us understand how a large amount of data is analysed and tabulated with the help of sampling and estimation, as well as its application in real life. In this investigation, we were instructed to analyse the census data tabulated from the respondents, where they input the data through a survey form available online. The respondents consist of students who are taking South Australian Matriculation course at Taylor’s College Subang Jaya. We were to carry out a series of analysis regarding the variables derived from the census data, and interpret the results obtained with the application of statistics knowledge. Task 1: Census Data Gathering

According to the census data, the population consists of July 2011 intake, January 2012 intake and March 2012 intake of the SAM students of Taylor’s College Subang Jaya campus who are taking Mathematical subject. The size of the population is 722 people.

Based on the data, the parameters that can be measured include standard deviation, mean, and percentage. There are several problems such as some students might answer the survey more than once, possibly resulting in repeating data. There are also cases where not all students answer the survey as told, resulting in inaccuracy of results, making it unreliable.

Task 2: Presentation of Census Data
1) Age of respondent

The pie chart above shows the age of respondents from the whole population, which is a quantitative data. It is inferenced that as much as 70% of the respondents are at the age of 18 years old, followed by 17 years old at 16% and 19 years old at 11%.

2) Gender of respondent

The pie chart above shows the gender of the respondents, a qualitative data. It can be concluded that the number of male and female internet users are almost equivalent at 360 male and 362 female users

3) Year of intake of respondent

The pie chart shows the year of intake of the respondents, another qualitative data. It is found out that most of the respondents join the SAM course on January 2012, at the percentage of 71%, followed up by the March 2012 intake at 20% and lastly the July 2012 intake at 9%.

4)Preference of Social Networking Site

From this pie chart, it shows the respondents’ preferred social networking site, a qualitative data. It is found out that most of the respondents use Facebook more frequent, where 81% of the respondents preferred the said social networking site. Followed by Twitter at 16%.

5) Hours spent on e-social networking

This graph shows a qualitative data, the hours the respondents spent on e-social networking. As much as 177 respondents spent around 2 hours on e-social network activities, followed by 135 respondents who spent 1 hour, and 119 respondents who spent up to 3 hours online.

Task 3
The respondents in the sample population are picked randomly, using the graphing calculator model TI-84.
