Drazen Petrovic was born in Sibenik on October 22, 1964, as the second child of Biserka, a librarian and and Jovan "Jole", a police officer. He and his older brother Aleksandar „Aco“ grew up in a typical Croatian small town family and had a happy childhood. They enjoyed in many activities in their hometown of Sibenik.
Following the footsteps of his brother, Dražen began to play basketball. However, his passion grew into a fanatical devotion. He liked to play basketball with his friends on the local open court very much, but he also spent hours alone refining his shooting skills. In his quest for continuous improvement, he drew admiration and respect of his peers, coaches and especially of his fans. All that set the stage for his career that followed.
Drazen's serious approach to the game was sometimes camouflaged by his wide and sincere smile. But as his skills improved, so did the expectations he put on himself. His personal drive developed into fine leadership skills on the court and caused many defeats for opposing teams. From his breakthrough performances in Croatia with Sibenka and Cibona teams to representing his homeland in international competition, Drazen became the best Croatian basketball player. He also earned the title „Croatian Mozart“ since he had turned basketball into an artform.
He set new standards for the game across borders, first in Spain for Real Madrid and later in the NBA with the Portland Trailblazers and New Jersey Nets. Fans stood up to take notice of the mighty "Petro". Not only was he the best guard team (especially pointers) in 1992, but also the best European who had previously played in the NBA. Another trophy was also the best quarterback shooter of the NBA that season.
He also became the leader of the young Croatian national basketball team, giving his contribution to homeland. In the first summer Olympics for the independent Croatia in Barcelona 1992, he took Croatian national team to the brightest success ever, the silver

Following Michael Jordans footsteps again, Rose became the first NBA all-star on the Bulls since Jordan was named an all-star in 1998. Rose’s third season could be considered his most successful, one of his best games was on January 17 2011. I remember sitting upstairs at my house, wearing my cobalt blue Adidas DRose 2.5s, watching the Bulls play the Grizzlies. The whole game Derrick seemed to be controlling the court, he flew up and down the light colored hardwood finding many creative ways to put the little orange ball in the little orange hoop. Derrick finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists, recording his first triple double. I was amazed by his performance and began to watch as many Bull’s games as I could, just to see him play. After more great performances Rose lead his Bulls team to a 62-20 record and Derrick won the NBA’s most valuable player award. At age 22 Derrick Rose was the youngest person to ever be named the MVP of the league, breaking a 47 year old record. When he won the MVP he inspired me by the way he overcame a hard situation to become one of the greatest athletes in the NBA and he also made me believe that if I worked hard like he did I could accomplish my…

This Basketball player was possibly the most devoted one to his game. When he was cut from the varsity team as a sophomore in college he stated, “I was angry, hurt, embarrassed, and ticked off, I spent that whole next summer in the gym working to get better. I had something to prove to myself.”(Looss, 25) Michael was very intense at practices. He made sure everyone gave it their all, or else he would push them around and talk trash to them. He remarked that he didn’t do it because that was who he was, but because he got very annoyed with people who came onto the court thinking it’s just a game or who simply thought that they were too good for the competition. Michael constantly worked on his game. An example of his constant training was when a photographer for the book Rare Air, called him at 9:30 in the evening and he was still lifting weights for the playoffs since earlier that day. Jordan admits that the influence of his parents, James and Delores, was the most important factor in helping him to achieve stardom. From them, he derived his renowned work ethic and inherited the competitiveness that had helped him to succeed.(Clary, 11) Jordan was not only dedicated to the sport, but to his physical health. He was once quoted saying; “I don’t mind administering machines or medicines to my body if it gets me ready to play. But I won’t . And I won’t take shots to cover the pain. I’ll do all the necessary work to help the healing process.”(Looss,…
