"Unlimited talk, text, web and nationwide 3G data," (Cricket Wireless, 2012). Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T are all well known cell phone carries; they all have been around for many years. Today, a new wireless service has grown to the top of the charts, it is called Cricket Wireless. Even though they have only been around 13 years, Cricket has expanded all over the United States. This small wireless company that started with marketing in two states has now expands in over 35 states (LEAP, 2012). Leap Wireless International, Inc. was the name given to what is now known as Cricket Wireless. With only 30 employees at that time, they had a vision to provide affordable wireless service to customers all over. Leap was an international market and even though they stayed focus on their primer market there was a new team working on expanding their product into the United States. In 1989, Leap Cricket Wireless was born. Their first market was Chattanooga, Tennessee with an unlimited service of talk for just thirty dollars a month which was lunched March 17, 1999. In 2000, they expand into nine additional markets that conceit of Nashville, Knoxville, Memphis, Greensboro, Tulsa, Tucson, charlotte, Little Rock and Salt Lake City. By 2002 they had thirty- four additional markets. Leap Cricket Wireless was well over one million customers, although, a year later they would file voluntary petition for relief under chapter 11 also known as “reorganization” bankruptcy. This only helped their company to become what is now known as Cricket Wireless. The rebirth of Leap occurred in 2004 but now as Cricket Wireless. New and fresh ideas would come to the table. Their services that started with unlimited talk were now expanding to text messaging, picture messaging, and long distance. By 2006, Cricket Wireless had two million customers.
