Peapod: Thriving in the World of Online Groceries

Online grocery shopping made as easy as a click of the mouse.   After the experience of the online grocery shopping with Peapod, the website is extremely user friendly.   Peapod offers weekly specials, coupons, brand name products, and a multitude of other items from households, fresh meats, produce, personal products and free delivery for 60 days for new customers.   Peapod offers a wonderful experience for online shoppers.   Peapod offer prices comparable to local grocery stores.   Consumers that are health conscience can see nutritional facts about products before they are purchased.   One of the disadvantages to using Peapod is the absence of being able to select your own fresh produce and meats.   Also, Peapod does not accept Electronic Benefits Transfer or “food stamps,” considering the country’s recession, loss of jobs, rise of fuel prices, many families are cutting cost by any and all means necessary and with reductions in income more families have applied for government assistance.   Other disadvantages to Peapod include, but are not limited too, limited exposure to regional and national chains, and the consumers’ inability to view the facility physically.   This raises the awareness of cleanliness and safety of the retailer.   The case study specifies complex ordering on the web and time consumption, limited ability to browse to store in the event something is missed from the shopping list, and waiting to meet the delivery person.
