Mark Zuckerberg
Do you know anyone who has made a top producing social website? Can you imagine being a billionaire at the age of 23? In this essay, I will be writing about Mark Zuckerberg. Who is Mark Zuckerberg you might ask? He is CEO of the top producing internet website called Facebook.
On May 14, 1984, Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born. His parents are Karen and Edward Zuckerberg. His father worked as a dentist with his office attached to the family home. His mother was a psychologist. Mark has four siblings and was raised in Dobbs Farry, NY.
At an early age, Mark was very interested in computers. When he was twelve years old, he got an Atari Basic. From this, Mark made a communication messaging program that he named “Zucknet.” This communication system was used by the family in the home. As Zuckerberg's interest in computers grew, his parents hired a computer tutor to help Mark. He went to a preparatory school in New Hampshire. Although computers were his first priority, he had talent in fencing and became captain of the school team. He also had interest in literature and earned a diploma in classics. He was accepted to Harvard beginning in the Fall of 2002.
When Mark was a student at Harvard University, he became known as the “go to guy”' for all computer related programming. He invented a site called “CourseMatch” which helped Harvard students choose courses based on course selections of other users. After this, Zuckerberg with help from several friends created, “The Facebook.” This was a social networking site. This site was ran from a dorm room until 2004. Because of the site's success, Mark dropped out of Harvard and moved his company to California.
When Zuckerberg settled in Palo Alto, California, his company was given a sizable investment from a venture capital firm. The name dropped “the” and became Facebook.
