History of the Marine NCO

Throughout military history, they strive for excellence and superiority among others is something that all nations with armed forces struggle to have. The United States is by far probably the most successful countries since its existence and part of that is because it has one of the strongest military organizations in the history of the world. They are successful most likely for the fact that the cause and drive of America was freedom, which during history is the one thing that people endure to have. Among the many institutions of the United States is the United State Marine Corps, the smallest but most feared military groups in the world. The Marine Corps’ success and reputation is due to the fact that they hold themselves to high standards and posses a high level of camaraderie. The Non-Commissioned Officers are the main reason for this status and achievement. The Marine NCO is the embodiment of the Marine Corps’ history and traditions because it is their job to uphold and carry on tradition, they seek to improve the Marine Corps’ each day, and they reflect how ones who came before influenced them and how they will influence the future. Alongside leadership and mentoring our NCOs have a duty to themselves and to the Corps project an image of the consummate warrior, the “Recruiting poster Marine,” if you will. There outward appearances always being clean-cut. Their personal affairs are to be kept well-managed so as not to interfere with their work lives. These are the characteristics of the Marine NCO, the characteristics of the Marine Corps itself. They are known by all who know the Marine Corps they have been since the beginning and they will until we are only a memory. The Marine Corps has not changed since its establishment and will never change because the NCOs carry on that image.
