Let’s Make It Legal, and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes star the widely known actor and model Marilyn Monroe. Stealing the screen at a young age, she continues to live in the hearts of many. The things I will be talking about in this speech are her life, influences on the world, and her life accomplishments. According to Britannica.com, (1) Marilyn Monroe otherwise known as Norma Jeane Baker, American actor, became a major sex symbol. She started off life in a foster home. Bouncing from family to family, at the age of sixteen, she began to get into the career of being a model. Because of her modeling skills, she began to take nude photographs for calendars landing her minor rolls. Around that time, she took her first husband. Later on she would go on to marry two other men. She signed a contract with Twentieth Century Fox, to start off her modeling career. Although she had a rough start to her life, she landed many more appearances in movies and television shows. She took the stage name as Marilyn Monroe, when she began her acting career. She tried seven shades of blonde, before she settled on platinum blonde. (Biography.com) Marilyn Monroe was like no one else. Director of Some Like It Hot, said that she was like no one else. Nobody would ever compare to Marilyn Monroe. Near the end of her time, she began missing many rehearsals because of illnesses. She later got suspended but rehired. She died at the age of 36, from probable suicide, or by overdosing on sleeping pills. Even though she had a short life, she accomplished so much in so little time. (Biography.com) (1) Making small appearances in movies landed Marilyn Monroe recognition. She landed the role in All About Eve (1950) show.
