Do you think it's alright to lie? At what times do you think it's alright to lie to people? Many people have different perspectives when it is alright to lie to people. Some people say it's not alright to lie at anytime at all. I think at certain times it's ok to lie as long as it's not going to hurt anyone. This is my perspective on when it's ok to lie.
Many people say it's not alright to lie at all but I think it’s ok in certain situations. If your mom asks you if she looks fat are you really going to tell her yes? If a girl asks if she's pretty but she really isn't what are you going to say? Most respectful people will tell them what they want to here and then neither you nor she will get hurt. The only time I think it's not ok to lie is when it's going to affect someone else or yourself. It's almost impossible for humans to not lie.
There is also another way you can look at lying. Many times if you lie to someone it just leads to another lie and then the person will never know if you're telling the truth. One time I lied to my parents about school and it ended up getting back to them. I ended up doing badly in school and then I got into double trouble with my parents. Most of the time you're just better off telling the truth instead of lying. My parents said if I would have just told the truth in the first place they would have helped me and I wouldn't be in as much trouble.
There are many reasons you shouldn't lie though. One is you have to remember all of the stuff you lied about so it doesn't catch up with you. Two more are lies damage others and no one ever believes a liar even if they are telling the truth. Lies also become habits and will make who you really are. If you tell the truth it will set you free.
The lesson here is that you don't need to lie. I think sometimes when you have to lie its ok but not if it's going to hurt you and your peers. The other thing is to never ever lie to your parents because that never comes out well. When you lie you... [continues]
