Indicators of Crisis Management Policies and Practices by Zachary Sheaffer and Rita

Mano-Negrin:

Article A (Sheaffer and Mano-Negrin 2003) states that regardless of the level of funds a firm has at its disposal it can never sufficiently plan for a crisis. It explores how firm’s can be affected by a crisis and how certain factors aid firms ability to prepare for a crisis.

Section 2- Two main points of similarity between Articles (B)- Crisis strategic planning for SMEs: finding the silver lining by Erica Seville and John Vargo and Article (C) The role of perception in crisis planning by John M. Penrose.

* Article B (Seville and Vargo 2011) and Article C (John M. Penrose 2000) review the business’ methods in dealing with a crisis and examine how these methods affect the business. * Both articles give recommendations that businesses should take in times of crisis and that also can be used to avoid a crisis.
