1. Executive Summary
This report aims to explain and illustrate the impact globalisation has on the Oil and Gas industry. First globalisation is defined and then the drivers of globalisation are looked at. A historic point of view is considered when the 3 historical waves of globalisation are looked and they show that globalisation in fact began 500 years when the British empire was trading globally but has in fact been at it most intense in the third wave which began after World War two.
Once globalisation has been fully explained the Oil and Gas industry is looked at as a global industry and the global players are looked at along with other key players such as OPEC that have an influence over the industry.
Specifically looking at the
  * impact and influence of emerging markets
  * Globalisation of production
  * Global joint ventures and Strategic Alliances
  * Ethical and Corporate Social Responsibility.
The report found that emerging markets of China will fuel demand of Oil in the future and that other economies such as Qatar and Iran could have a major influence over the industry as Oil begins to run out and they will have large reserves to back them up.
