Change is the only thing that is constant: when I read this for the first time, I was bewildered to get to the bottom of it, but in my growing years I learnt that people who change along with the times alone survive the onslaught of the nature.
At this juncture let me quote Leo Tolstoy “Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself” so the Change should start from within you than looking for it elsewhere.
Everybody is experiencing change, job is changing, bosses are changing, some are out of a job, few are afraid of being out of a job, sales are down or they are up, the quotas are bigger, the new software is different, the review or forms have changed so change is happening all the time and every time. While the world is progressing towards a Global Village breaking all barriers, one thing that might become a hurdle is the non-changing behavior of its Human Race, so what needs to be done, is a question that pops into many minds. The snake which cannot cast its skin has to die, as well the minds which are prevented from changing their opinions; they cease to be mind, so change is the only eternal thing in this mortal world.
In the business world, skepticism about change initiatives is rampant. Not only do some 70 per cent of such efforts fail, but even those that look successful at first often prove unsustainable in the organizational culture. This statistic does not come as a big surprise to those who remember the words of Niccolò Machiavelli, written in the 1500s: “It must be remembered that there is nothing more difficult to plan, more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to manage, than the creation of a new system.” Because change disturbs and threatens those who are comfortable with the way things are, it tends to have few adherents, especially when first broached. But that is no excuse for avoiding the difficulties encountered when trying to drive needed change.... [continues]
