Present world is very competitive in all sphere of life. Particularly in running an organization, which runs on commercial consideration basis to prepare various operating plans, talent is required. Human Resource of any organization needs these requirements. As such, selection of HR, placing them, training them, career advancement, motivation, performance evaluation etc is very much essential for an organization in dealing with human resources.
This report concerns a banking business - Bangladesh Development Bank Ltd (BDBL). Here we have focused on BDBL’s company information, company missions and visions, organization structure, it’s legal barriers, recruitment process, major source of job candidates in the organization, de recruitment options, selection and placement of staff, types of selection devices used by the organization, the sstrengths and weakness of the organization, orientation ,training and development, organization programs, types of training, employee training methods, performance appraisals, performance appraisals methods and possible pros and corns of the method of appraisals.
3. Scope & Limitation:
* The printed annual report of the bank was easy to collect and provided us with a lot of vital information. * BDBL employee Mr. Khalilur Rahman helped us with the data collection of HR related information. * BDBL’s official web site provided us with amny necessary information used in the report later. Limitation:
* Data collection was time consuming as we had to go through all the information to collect the information we needed for the project. * Confidential data related to the business were not revealed. * Lack of experience of the group members related to preparing projects and presentations.
4. Literature Review :
With the decision of the Government, Bangladesh Development Bank Ltd (BDBL) was incorporated on 16 November, 2009 as a Limited Company under the Companies Act, 1994 by merger of former Bangladesh Shilpa Bank (BSB) and Bangladesh Shilpa Rin Sangstha (BSRS), two Development Financial Institutions (DFIs) in the public sector.
Bangladesh Shilpa Bank (BSB) was established in October 31, 1972 for accelerating the industrial pace of the country through providing loans and equity to the industrial project as per Bangladesh Shilpa Bank Order, 1972 (President’s Order No. 129 of 1972)
With the same objective, Bangladesh Shilpa Rin Sangstha (BSRS) was also established in October,31 1972 as per Bangladesh Shilpa Rin Sangstha Order, 1972 (President’s Order No. 128 of 1972)
