Making Good Choices: A Personal Experience
My greatest accomplishments
“4/20 “
One day while selling candy at school, I made a goal for the week. If I sold out every day 25$ would go into my savings for a party I wanted to help my friend with. I was so dedicated to get all the money I needed. It was her birthday and I promised her the best night ever. So every day that week I packed 50$ worth of product. Selling out every day it was finally Friday! I had all the money I needed for that night. 125$ waiting for my dearest friend .We literally blew that night away.

Funniest thing that happen to me
In 5th grade I liked this boy who always had Doritos chips. I hated them but I did anything I could just to talk to him. Every day I would go up to him and ask him for some, and he would always give them to me. One day my friend walked up to me while I was asking him and she then said “why are you asking him for those? You hate those chips! I looked at her and said well I like them now. She giggled and said no it’s because you like him. I was so embarrassed.

Quote ☺
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not.

The Enlightenment is touted by modern historians as a time of intellectual and social advancement, an era of optimism and freedom unheard of in earlier times. The era of absolutism is seen as a time of mounting liberty that contributed to the rise of democracy in the Americas and elsewhere. In reality, the "Enlightened Despotism" of the absolutist leaders was more in keeping with the tyrannical rulers of the pre-reformation Holy Roman Empire than with the democratic republic of modern America. Three of the most prominent absolutist leaders were Catherine the Great of Russia, Frederick the Great of Prussia and Louis XIV of France - these three leaders are perfect examples of the avarice, tyranny and lust for power that characterizes the Enlightened Despots.…

Throughout Hamlet's ordeal, he must interact with many people. Each interaction poses several possible ways to act, because of his obsessive nature, he often chose to sacrifice relationships in order to accomplish other goals and feel better about his situation. Many times, Hamlet could have tried to confront people concerning the way they were acting, but instead chose to ignore their existence, or in more extreme cases, end their existence. I can't stress enough how different the situation could have been had Hamlet not letting his emotions get the best of him.…

After hip-hop class was over I went to the parking lot and found my mom's car. I hopped in and she drove me to a McDonalds by an intersection and we got in line for the drive through. When I was young, my mom, brother, and I spent the day shopping for clothes at few different stores. Before we went back home, we stopped at a dollar store. While I was shopping, I found a squishy, colorful ball, and played with it while we looked around. It wasn't until we were on our way home that I realized I was still holding the ball. Nobody noticed or said anything, and they wouldn't know if I decided just to keep it, but I didn't. We went back to the store, and I told the woman at the cashier about it. She told me, “It’s not a big deal, but thank you for being honest.”…

Payday finally came where I had enough money to pay the hotel bill and have some left to pay the bills at home too. Getting ready for the journey consisted of getting some beer and whatever illicit drugs we could find for the ten hour drive home. Needless to say at that point in my life I was no saint. We packed the truck with the equipment and loaded our clothes and hit the road. We partied like the animals we were as the joy of going home compelled us to do so.…

    Making Good Choices.

Making choices can affect any and everything in your life whether it’s dealing with your family or just everyday situations. Everyone in life is faced with good and bad choices that can either have a good outcome on your life or it can make a turn for the worst. Yes, everyone wants to make good choices in life. But does that always happen? Nine times out of ten know. Recently, I made a bad choice that affected my life in numerous ways for instance when I got caught shoplifting my parents looked down on me as if I was this thief. I’m very embarrassed of my actions but there’s nothing I can do to erase it I can only make this a learning experience and make better choices next time around. As teenagers were often expected to make the right choices but we never really evaluate the good and bad in anything. We just do things in the moment then look back after it already has affected us and we wish we would have evaluated the negative and the positives of the decisions we have made. Often times I like to quote from an unknown source: "A smart man learns from his own mistakes, but a wise man learns from others mistakes." I believe one does not have to make all the mistakes possible before learning that some choices are better left unchosen. There are some addictions, for example, that require only a short term exposure to them and you are "hooked" and it becomes extremely hard to free yourself from this physical enslavement. I feel that once a person constantly makes good choices, he then realizes that it just makes sense to stay on that path. I have never known a person who was happy about being a "slave" to a bad habit. There are so many positive things in life to be experienced, why limit yourself by letting bad life choices hold you back from achieving your full potential? You can never feel really good about doing a bad thing. Have you ever regretted anything? I think we all have. It is hard not to, it seems at times it can be…

The term ‘consumer’ is used to describe the way society is today, in the same sense as we lived in an industrial society before this. The life we live is based around the activity of consuming in many ways, so much that we have come to live in a ‘consumer society’. When it comes to buying we like to believe we freely chose to buy that object, this means that we can buy something we want without any external influences. This essay is going to discuss the idea of freedom of choice in relation with today’s consumer society. The concepts ‘consumer society’ and ‘freedom of choice’ will be fully explored. Then will be discussed the variety of ways in which a person can be influenced. Then I’ll discuss the two concepts together to explore the claim that consumer society is characterised by freedom of choice further.…

Principal approached me and asked me that why had I not brought the books? I told him that I was studying late, so I forgot the books in house. He said to me that the only reason you have to study at home is that you do not bring your books to school and you do not study over here. It was such an embarrassing moment for me that I felt like crying. The entire class started laughing at me and I was the new dumbo of the class.…

The most significant accomplishment, for me, would be assuming an officer position within the Morehouse College Glee Club as a freshman. This is something that never happens, considering elections within this organization occur at the close of each academic year so freshmen would not be considered. The then president had a tough decision to make in terms of who to appoint to the position. After careful review of attendance records and academic records I was ultimately chosen. Not only did the then president go against the grain, but he believed in my ability to achieve be an effective leader. This empowered me to excel and become more dedicated to the organization and developing my leadership skills.…
