Why should not the nonprofit organization want this money? Government Grants
The Organization is very well organize they have generous donations that individuals donate , plus they have corporate sponsorship that helps to fund them so they make more than they really would get if they were funded by the government.
They do not use this type of funding because of the fact that they have to file an IRS Form 990 or 990-EZ it depends on whether they have more or less to file. They make all their revenue available for anyone to see if the need to. Foundation Grants
The reason that the foundation wants this money is because this is where most of the money does come from also they offer grants, scholarships, and this helps the children to be able to get the wishes they do wish to get. This helps to pay for the trips they give the children and this helps to pay for the medical needs of these children.
