Throughout our lives, we have to make major decisions that will affect the rest of our life. The perspective of each one of us towards making major decisions differs from one to another, some believe that we have to consult others, and others believe that we have to make our major decisions alone. According to what i know, and my personal experience, i believe that we should consult the most trusted people about our major decisions, yet not forget about our priorities and personal opinions first.
How many times do we have to make major decisions within our career life? and what should we do to make the rightful decision? Lets take choosing our collage major as an example. It’s our career life to begin with so we have to make a list of the things that we like first, after that choose a few of them that are appropriate to where we live, what we can do, and what we want and need more than the other choices. Then ask the most trusted people we have for their recommendations. In that way, we have kept what we want and like as our priorities and then asked the people we trust for their knowledge. I believe that following these steps is the best way to make the right decision. Because in that way we have asked for recommendations from experienced trusted people, but all the probabilities will be one of the majors that we like. Owing the the fact that if we specified in a major that we don’t like we will end up not liking what we do for a living, not being up to the expectations, and we wouldn't do as good as if we were keen in it. A further example of a major decision in our career lives, deciding wether to transfer schools or not. In such a situation friends and family are affected as well, so we should ask them for what they think. Yet again, keep our priorities and personal opinion first. Don’t forget that it’s ok to change your mind if the consulted person is right, and he or she make sense.
